Is This Paleo?

Eating Bunny Poop is NOT Paleo

Dogs may find bunny poop to be tasty, and it may be organic, but I’m going to take a wild guess and say that it’s not paleo. So don’t eat it.

If you’re new to paleo (and probably even if you aren’t), you might be wondering about certain foods or drinks and whether or not they are paleo. Even when you look at something like the paleo food pyramid, it’s easy to still have a lot of questions.

Mark Sisson, author of The Primal Blueprint has written several posts where he has answered reader’s questions about whether or not something is paleo/primal. Have a look here, here, here, here and even here. He’ll tell you about cashew nuts, agave nectar, almond milk, milk chocolate, wheat germ and even things like Quorn (that weird meat substitute that Migros sells and that I used to eat).

Now, don’t go getting all caught up in trying to be ‘Paleo Perfect’. A paleo lifestyle is all about being healthy, not about being perfect. If something not quite so paleo happens to cross your lips, it’s okay (unless maybe it’s bunny poop…ewww). Click on the image below to see full size.

Nobody is perfect!

Diane Sanfilippo over at Balanced Bites and author of the fabulous book Practical Paleo, wrote a great post about paleo perfectionism that you can read here.

If you have questions about a particular food or drink and you want to know if it’s paleo or not, leave us a comment in the comment section and I’ll do my best to find out for you.

*The dog picture from above is from a hilarious site www.dogshaming.com. It features dogs caught in all sorts of shameful behaviour. If you have a dog, it will all hit home with you. If you don’t own one, but are thinking of getting one, I’m afraid this site may make you think twice! We all know that dogs chew on things, pee on things, barf on things and eat things (and yes, by things I do mean your most prized possessions), but we love them anyway!
